Dale City Woman Charged With Cutting Man's Arm, Torso With Glass

An 18-year-old man was reportedly injured.

Police charged Dale City resident Erika Thomas with malicious wounding after a Woodbridge man told police that he had been cut in the arm and torso with a piece of glass, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Police responded to Filarete Street and Feiss Court on Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. for a reported assault.

"The victim, an 18-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation, in the street, which escalated," Perok said. "During the encounter, the accused allegedly picked up a piece of glass from the road and cut the victim to his arm and torso. Minor injuries were reported. The accused left the area but was located a short distance away and detained without further incident."

After an investigation, Thomas was arrested. Her court date is unavailable. She is being held without bond.

I have been watching the crime rate rise n the Dale City area. IT's so heart breaking. This area started off with so much promise. I moved here in 1969. I remember our first Christmas in our new house. People came around our block singing Christmas caroles under our side walk light as me and my young wife fondely looked on. It took a while but slowly crime found it's way to our area. Now people are afraid to walk around in day light much less in the dark..I hear people say we need more laws. Well rape murder and robbery we have laws already on the books as well as all other crimes. They just dont seem to help now days. Where do we go from here???
