I-95/395 HOV Lane Closures This Week

The lanes will be fully shut down during weeknights and on Saturday morning for construction work on the 95 Express Lanes project.

 

The Virginia Department of Transportation continues the construction work on the 95 Express Lanes project this week with full Interstate 95/395 HOV lane closures from Dumfries Road at Exit 152 to Duke Street at Exit 3.

The HOV lanes will be closed Monday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 am. this week, on Friday night from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday.

Construction work on the lanes includes paving, lane markings and barrier placement.

"During night work hours, motorists will be able to access the I-395 HOV lanes north to Washington, D.C. at Seminary Road and Shirlington," a release stated. "HOV lanes will reopen at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, heading north toward Washington, D.C."

ok we get screwed with traffic ,so some private company can charge us toll money to use our road after this mess is done. well planned thing going on here ,who stands to get rich from this crap

How about this for a solution. In the areas where they can to alleviate congestion Express lanes ABOVE 95 with limited on an off ramps at only MAJOR stopping points. We can make the lanes widers unfortunately so why not build overpass lanes right above. Keeping the trucks below with the large suv's. Only passenger cars and small cross overs allowed above.

To pay for this is simple stop cutting the trasportation budget and tell the politicians to stop giving tax breaks and credits to large corporations, politicians need to keep their hands out the tax box also and maybe money where it is delegated to go will get there to do the things it is suppose to do HELP HARD WORKING AMERICANS!!!
