Police have charged Woodbridge resident Erick Martin Portillo, 20, with attempted malicious wounding and hit and run after a 20-year-old Woodbridge woman was struck by a car Friday, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

The victim told police that she was in a vehicle with the accused near Springwoods Drive and Glenridge Drive in Lake Ridge on Friday night. The accused was driving the vehicle.

"The victim reported that the accused began to act erratic," Perok said.

The victim attempted to get out of the vehicle. She was then reportedly struck by the vehicle and the accused reportedly fled.  

"The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital," Perok said.

Portillo was arrested Dec. 8. His court date and bond information is unavailable.
