From Lancers head coach Kristen Misencik:
The Lake Ridge Lancers hosted the Virginia Oaks Sea Devils for the first time in Prince William Swim League history. Through Event 33 (11-12 Girls Backstroke), the Lancers led the Sea Devils by a score of 1,483 to 1,047.
Due to the effects of the heat, the Sea Devils decided not to swim any further events after Event 33. The Lancers continued to swim until the end of the scheduled individual events and finished with a score of 2,914.
The three Lancer standout swimmers were Courtney Laird (15) and Eric McDonald (17) who each earned five blue ribbons and three PWA times in all of their individual events and Mitchell Nicolai (8) who earned all first place finishes, including winning the 10 & Under 100 Individual Medley event as an 8 year old.
The following swimmers earned three to four blue ribbons and recorded PWA times in all three individual events: Josh DeLeoz (12), Lauren Donohoe (18), Lori Anne Madison (6), Phil Mazzoccoli (13), Elisabeth Vogel (14), Aaron Waldman (14), and Cameron Young (16). The team achieved 30 percent improved times and six swimmers recorded personal best times in all three individual events this week: Delaney Baker (12), Aaron Brock (10), Ally Harner (9), Noah Levine (13), Maddie Ramirez (11), and Jesse Shafer (9). Th eLancers will host their longtime friendly rival, The Ridgewood Barracudas, on Saturday.
