Lake Ridge Man Charged With Assault and Battery on Police Officers
He was also charged with DUI, refusal to comply, noise violation, driving on a suspended driver's licence, giving a false ID to a law enforcement officer and possession of Schedule 1 drugs (methamphetamine).
On May 5, Lake Ridge resident Jameel Washington was charged with assault and battery on two law enforcement officers after PWC police reported that he used physical force to resist his arrest, police spokesperson Jonathan Merriman said.
The officers first encountered Washington when they approached a vehicle playing loud music on Ensbrook Lake in Dale City at about 9:40 p.m. As they talked with those in the vehicle, the officers could reportedly smell alcohol in open containers.
"The driver, Jameel Washington, became very agitated and aggressive during questioning and refused to comply after being told he was under arrest," Merriman said. "Both officers used physical force to try and control Mr. Washington, who became combative. Mr. Washington ran and after a short foot pursuit he was taken to the ground by the arresting officers. Mr. Washington continued to resist by swinging at the officers and trying to stand."
Washington was charged with DUI, refusal to comply, noise violation, driving on a suspended driver's licence, giving a false ID to a law enforcement officer, possession of Schedule 1 drugs (methamphetamine), and two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer.
His court date is June 19. He is being held without bond.

Jameel Washington was released on bond. This story is wrong. He is a a menace to our neighborhoods and constantly being released.
