Lake Ridge Man Charged With Grand Larceny at Car Wash

Joseph Allison was arrested on March 9.

Police charged Joseph Allison, 20, with grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after an incident in which a caller reported that he had picked up his car from the Tackett's Mill Car Wash only to find his handgun missing from the car's center console, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

The caller told police that he had dropped off his car to get it detailed. When he found the handgun missing after picking the car up, he went back to the business and called police.

Police responded at 4:59 p.m. on March 9. After investigating, police found that the accused, who was employed at the car wash, took the gun from the customer's car and then concealed it in a bathroom trash can, police reports said.
