Laptops, Jewelry Stolen in Burglaries in Woodbridge Area

No suspects were seen.

Two Woodbridge area homeowners recently reported the loss of laptops and jewelry, chalking up the missing items to residential burglaries, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok reported.

On Tuesday, a homeowner in the 13700 block of Mapledale Avenue reported the theft of jewelry and a laptop, with total value of $3,000, to the police. The burglary reportedly occurred between 5 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. that day. A patio door was broken out, and police believe that the burglar may have entered that way.

Also on Tuesday, a homeowner in the 13900 block of Oleander Court reported a burglary in progress to police. The homeowner told police that he was in the house when he heard footsteps on another floor. When a police officer responded at about 2 p.m., he discovered a broken sliding glass door in the rear of the house. When police arrived, nobody was in the house, and a $500 laptop was missing.
