Let It BE Boutique will close this Sunday after over two years in Occoquan. Owner and Woodbridge resident Brenda Evans is moving to Silver Spring and taking her business with her.
"It's a new chapter," she said. "I love Occoquan. I've met some wonderful people. I've had some great customers."
Her location on Poplar Alley did not net her as many customers as the shops on Mill Street. She now plans to sell jewelry through her website, and possibly open a new shop in the Takoma Park area. Evans has honed her craft for 25 years, and wants to concentrate on it further.
"It's a historical town as well," she said. She loved Occoquan's safe, small-town, historical feel.
"There have been times I've put a sign on the door that said, 'Go right in, I'll be back,'" she said. Evans never felt like she couldn't trust her customers. "It's just a good feeling to have."
Popular items at the shop include the charm watches, where each charm has a specific meaning. Evans is selling most of what is in her shop in a close-out sale. Her website is live, but she is not selling any jewelry on it yet.
