Michelle Obama Makes a Surprise Visit to Occoquan
The First Lady stopped by Mom's Apple Pie.
After campaigning in Dale City earlier Thursday, first lady Michelle Obama stopped by Mom's Apple Pie in Occoquan.
She arrived around 3 p.m. and stayed for 10 minutes, employee Molly Glynn said.
"She bought an apple and a cherry pie," Glynn said. "We probably had about 10 people in here. She hugged everyone and took pictures. She was very kind, the sweetest woman ever."

It was a surprise visit, and Secret Service told the shop not to tell anyone that the First Lady was coming.
"She leaned over to me while I was taking a photo with her at the VFW, and said, 'By the way, we're coming to Occoquan,'" Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta said.
Those who came into the shop were welcome to visit with the first lady. About 10 people arrived during the course of her visit.

I love it when a small business makes the news like this. :)

Typical campaign activity, however I do like the support of local businesses. I never heard of "Moms Apple Pie" before, gotta check it out!

Nick,
Mom's is the best. Their pies are amazing and they have local Virginia wines. They have another store in Leesburg as well.
