New '5Q' Race Honors Woodbridge Resident Who Died of a Heart Attack
The Quincy Conner Foundation is raising money for student scholarships.
A new '5Q' run/walk this Saturday will make a difference to two high school students, as the Quincy Conner Foundation raises money for student scholarships.
TQCF formed after Woodbridge resident Quincy Conner died suddenly of a heart attack at 28 in December of 2005.
The event starts at 10:45 a.m. at Lake Ridge Park at 12350 Cotton Mill Dr. The race itself is at 11 a.m., with the post-race BBQ at noon.
The race will feature a live DJ, T-shirts for registered runners, a post-race barbecue from Dixie Bones, and trophies or awards for top finishers overall and in various age categories.
Sponsors for the race include Tropical Smoothie Café, Confections Cupcakery, and Va Runner.
Register online for $35 to run the race, or for $40 to attend the BBQ as well. All proceeds benefit TQCF.
