Prince William County Police called out a K-9 to search for an armed robber Tuesday, but were unable to find him. 

A 35-year-old victim reported he was outside near his home around 8:43 p.m. Tuesday on the 3400 block of Brightwood Lane in Dale City when a stranger approached him. The unknown man showed a handgun and demanded money, police said. He then fled on foot. 

The man did not report any injuries. 

Police are looking for a black male about 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, with a thin build, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black scarf that covered his face.
