Police: Shovel Used in Domestic Dispute
A man and a woman near Occoquan reportedly got into an argument that turned physical, Prince William County Police said.
Police arrested two Occoquan area residents after a domestic dispute reportedly turned violent, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
Police initially responded to Colonial Drive near Occoquan on March 7 at 1:24 p.m. for a domestic incident that reportedly involved weapons. Police found that both residents were involved in an argument.
"The altercation became physical and, at one point, the accused, Heishman, fell and struck her head on a table causing minor injuries," Perok said. "Heishman then retrieved a shovel from outside of the residence and repeatedly struck a door to the home. When Barker confronted Heishman, she struck him to the head with the shovel causing injuries near his left eye."
Officers arrested both the same day, after an investigation. Heishman's court date is unavailable. She is being held without bond. Barker's court date is also unavailable, and he was held on a $1,000 secured bond.
