Readers React: Chipotle Opens on Old Bridge Road

"Finally!" says one reader. "I can walk there," says another.

One of our most popular stories this week: Chipotle opened on Old Bridge Road. And the long lines of anxious diners has already begun, according to one Patch editor.

After watching construction inch slowly toward opening day all winter, Patch readers reacted to the restaurant opening on Facebook.

"Finally!" wrote Brian. "Now I don't have to worry about getting my hopes up over the one by (Interstate) 95 just to walk in and have the line wrap all the way around the place back to the register. It's about time!"

Reader Dewayne was less confident: "This one won't be any different."

Have you been to the new location? Post your comments below!

At Woodbridge Patch Facebook, Michelle said, "I can walk there," while Erika was looking for another location. "Now we just need one in Dumfries on 234!" she wrote.

And DJ Chucklez is looking for a drive-thru. "The lines in the ones around here are always nuts!" he wrote. "And that's anything within an hour of Woodbridge."

The parking lot was packed today for lunch. On the plus side: The line at Panera was much shorter than usual.

It's nice to have a Chipotle, but it would be even nicer to see some local, "mom and pop" shops come to the Lake Ridge area and actually be supported. It would be nice to see a local coffee shop, more local restaurants, local shopping, etc. Enough with the corporate stuff, already.

Chipotle recently pulled its BSA sponsorship over the gay rights issue and that's Chipotle's business, but since I was a Life Scout and have many fond memories of scouting as a boy and young man, they'll get no more business of mine. I just added them to my list of such as Starbucks, JCP, Target, Home Depot, etc., who have all funded or used their corporate images to support the gay agenda, esp. gay marriage. I think corporations should remain neutral on social issues, despite what their CEOs personal preferences might be.

@RME KRNL - Thanks for that information. I didn't realize Chipotle supported gay rights and gay marriage. I will definitely have to add them to my list of corporate restaurants to support since they support basic human rights.
