This Week's Weather: Sunny, Then Possible Showers

Slight chance for showers beginning Tuesday night; temperatures will remain mostly mild, possibly peaking at 82 degrees Wednesday.

You might want to grab a light jacket Monday morning. The first full week of fall will bring delightful weather to Northern Virginia at the start of the week with sunny skies, lows in the 40s and highs of just 70 degrees on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday "looks like another gem," according to the Capital Weather Gang blog. Beginning Tuesday night though, the area has a slight chance, 20 percent, of seeing showers through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. (WJLA's seven-day forecast though says there is a zero percent chance of rain Tuesday night, and predicts there is a slight chance of rain starting Wednesday.)

On Wednesday, temperatures could punch through past the 80-degree mark, according to The Weather Channel. The average temperature for September in Northern Virginia is 80 degrees.

Chances for rain increase as the weekend gets closer, with a 40 percent chance of rain starting Friday night and continuing through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Northern Virginia will see lows in the high 40s and low 50s throughout the week.

Unfortunately, the horses and stables will not be there in a few years due to the recent decision by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to not renew the lease.

I wish this weather would stay year around. I can get used to these temperatures. Not too cool and not too warm, it's just right. If we could only get the traffic around here to trim down. A guy can wish, can't I?
