Two D.C. Men Charged With Grand Larceny in Lake Ridge

Derrick Counts, 23, and Stephon Edwards, 24, were arrested Dec. 1.

On Dec. 1, police arrested Derrick Counts, 23, and Stephon Edwards, 24, and charged them with burglary, grand larceny, and credit card larceny after an incident in which a witness reported two men leaving a house in the 1700 block of Shady River Court, where police were investigating a burglary in progress.

The witness said that the two unknown men left the house and got into a vehicle. The witness provided police with a description of the vehicle. Police later identified the men as Counts and Edwards after conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle of the same description near Potomac Plaza.

The two men were arrested without a struggle.

When police investigated the house, they found that the suspects most likely entered the residence by prying the front door open. Two laptops, an iPod, and other items valued at about 1,600 were recovered after being reported missing.

Police waited to release this information because they were still investigating the incident.
