Vehicle Fire on I-95 North Ties Up Traffic
Billowing smoke could be seen; firefighters were on the scene between Fort Belvoir and Springfield exits.
A vehicle fire was extinguished by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at around 4:30 p.m.

At around 4:30 p.m., Fairfax County Firefighters put out a car fire on Interstate 95 north, between the Fort Belvoir and Springfield exits.
The three right lanes on I-95 are blocked with the left lane getting by. Traffic was backed up as emergency vehicles — two fire trucks, an ambulance and Virginia State Police — got through. No word on any injuries.
The car on fire was a dark green four-door vehicle.
