Water Main Break Cuts Water Supply to Dale City Elementary School
About eight to 10 customers and the entire school will be out of water for about 6 to 8 hours.
Dale City Elementary School's water supply has been cut off by a water main break near the school, the Prince William County Public Schools Facebook page reported.
Virginia American Water told the county that there had been an 8-inch water main break on Brook Drive, Jason Grant, Communications Director for Prince William County, said in an email.
"Eight to 10 customers and Dale City Elementary School are out of water for about 6-8 hours during this repair," Grant said.
School is still open, and the school is bringing portable toilets onto school grounds, the school's Facebook post stated. Until then, students who need to use the restroom will be taken to Bel Air Elementary School. The school will provide hand sanitizers, boxed lunches, and bottled water.
"Students should remain at school, wherever possible, though students who must be picked up will receive an excused absence," the post continued.
