 \nFairfax Partnership for Youth Launches Bullying Prevention Training Pr
 ogram\n\nFairfax Partnership for Youth\, Inc. will launch its new commun
 ity-based program\, Bully-Free NoVa: A Community of Respect. The launch 
 reception will take place on November 13\, 2012\, at the James Lee Commu
 nity Center\, 2855 Annandale Road #101\, Falls Church\, VA 22042\, from 
 5:00 p.m. &ndash\; 6:30 p.m.\nFPY&rsquo\;s bullying prevention training 
 team will provide an overview of the new bullying awareness and preventi
 on program. All community supporters of the anti-bullying movement shoul
 d attend this free event.\nYouth report that they are bullying and being
  bullied now more than ever before. All youth are vulnerable\, but those
  with special needs\, racial/ethnic minorities\, and LGBT youth are at e
 ven greater risk. The social and emotional effects of chronic bullying\,
  including cyberbullying\, can be lasting and devastating for individual
 s\, families\, and the entire community.\nPeople who are bullied in the 
 workplace have higher rates of depression\, anxiety\, low self-esteem\, 
 health problems\, poor job and/or school performance and suicidal though
 ts. Workplace bullying and harassment increases the work load on mental 
 health providers\, raises insurance rates and cost of health care\, and 
 emotionally takes a toll on families\, friends\, and colleagues in the w
 ork place.\nLaunch reception attendees will learn:\n The basics of FP
 Y&rsquo\;s program approach\n How to get their community-based organi
 zation or business involved\n How to support and be a part of this on
