 gram\nThe Merrimac Farm Chapter of Virginia's Master Naturalist Program 
 will offer a course from March 8 though October 28 2012.  There are both
  lecture and field classes\, with an emphasis on being outside. The clas
 s schedule is HERE and requirements for Certified Master Naturalists are
  below.\nThe program fee is  $200 per participant\, payable  when you su
 bmit your application. You must  be 18 years old by the start  of the tr
 aining session to participate.\nClick HERE to download the electronic/em

 en until class maximum of 12 participants is reached.\nTo become a Certi
 fied Master Naturalist\, a trainee must:\n\nComplete the  basic training
  course\; \nPass a take-home test at the end of the training course\; \n
 Complete at least 8 hours/year of advanced training\, approved by the Me
 rrimac Farm Chapter\;\nVolunteer for at least 40 hours/year for a projec
 t approved by the Merrimac Farm Chapter. \n\nMost classes are held at Me
 rrimac Farm Wildlife Management Area\, 15020 Deepwood Lane\, Nokesville 
 20181.\nEveryone has 12 months  from the last day of basic training to  
 complete the advanced training  and volunteer requirements for  certific
 ation.\nMaster Naturalist  Certification is valid through the calendar y
 ear  following the year in  which the requirements were completed. To  m
 aintain certification\,  volunteers complete an additional 8 hours of  a
 dvanced training and 40  hours of service annually.\nParticipants are  e
 xpected to cover all the material of the course.  No more than two  clas
 ses may be missed.                                                      
            All missed sessions must be made up by  attending the  approp
 riate\, approved class within 12 months of the  completion of the  train
 ing.\nVirginia  Master Naturalist programs are open to all\, regardless 
  of race\, color\,  national origin\, sex\, religion\, age\, disability\
 ,  political beliefs\,  sexual orientation\, or marital or family status
