I-95, I-395 HOV Lane Closures This Weekend

This weekend, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close the HOV lanes on I-95 and I-395 from the DC line to Dumfries Road.

VDOT is closing the HOV lanes for overnight construction work on the Express Lanes Project. This is in addition to the planned full closures of I-95 south at Exit 148 near Quantico on Friday and Saturday night.

The closures are from 11 p.m. Friday night to 10 a.m. Saturday morning and 11 p.m Saturday night to 10 a.m. Sunday morning.

On Saturday morning, the HOV lanes will open to southbound traffic from the DC line to the Edsall Road exit. At that exit, all drivers must leave the HOV lanes and continue onto I-395 south. HOV lanes are closed between Edsall Road and Route 289, where motorists can reenter the lanes using a left-lane ramp.

All HOV lanes will close at 2 p.m. to reverse HOV lane direction, and northbound traffic will be able to access the lanes by 4 p.m.
