Award-winning Chef Troy Clayton To Open Second Location of The Landing Restaurant and Waterfront Bar at Occoquan Harbor Marina

Award-winning chef Troy Clayton is targeting the weekend of June 13th to open his newest restaurant, The Landing Restaurant and Waterfront Bar at Occoquan Harbor Marina in Woodbridge. This property marks the third restaurant owned by Clayton, who also owns Geranio in Old Town Alexandria and the original The Landing Restaurant and Waterfront Bar, located at the Coles Point Marina in Hague VA, which he opened just last year.

The Landing at Occoquan Harbor Marina will occupy what was formerly The Water’s Edge restaurant. Clayton, along with marina owners Dick Lynn and Richard and Lisa Krauss, has invested close to $1 million in renovations to create a Florentine-inspired space with indoor and outdoor covered and uncovered decks that seat 70 and a “front porch” area with lounge seating for an additional 70 guests. Inside, the formal dining room can accommodate 60 people while a private dining room holds an additional 50 diners. The restaurant also boasts a 50-seat, nautical-themed indoor bar.

“The original The Landing Restaurant has been so successful I am excited to recreate its popular menu and laid-back vibe at another location. Perched at the end of the marina, the new restaurant boasts stunning views of the peaceful and picturesque Occoquan River. It’s the perfect location to serve up a dynamic menu that finds its inspiration from my many travels, as well as from right here at home in our own Chesapeake Bay.” Clayton is betting that diners will love traditional fare like mouth-watering calamari, crab cakes, lobster risotto and thick steaks, while enjoying creative dishes such as his unique potato and crab nachos.

While The Landing at Occoquan Harbor Marina was developed in concert with the marina owners and with the support of boaters familiar with The Landing at Coles Point, Clayton believes its more central location will make it a draw outside the boating community as well. The new restaurant is located in an area that has become a focal point for land development in Prince William County. In the near vicinity, plans are underway to expand Route 1 and develop a mixed-use town center as well as to add 750 residential units directly behind the restaurant property over the next five years. Clayton says the addition of a vibrant, thriving restaurant at the Occoquan Harbor Marina has garnered enthusiastic support from local government, as it adds to their overall growth plans for the region.

A formal ribbon-cutting event is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of June 27-28. For the latest information on opening dates and more, visit www.thelandingrestaurants.com or like www.facebook.com/thelandingrestaurants.
