A 103-year-old Lake Ridge resident won a gold medal this week at the Wii Bowling competition as part of the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics.
Doris Woodring participated in the event on Tuesday at the Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield.
“She was an inspiration to the youngsters in their 80’s and 90’s,” Wendy Straub, Wii bowling event director, said in a press release about the event.
The NVSO events take place through September 19 and include
residents 50 years of age and older. The program promotes health and
fitness for Northern Virginia seniors.
