Occoquan Farmers' Market Sponsored by Occoquan Transportation Company

The farmers market begins April 27.

It gives me great pleasure to report that the Occoquan Farmers' Market will continue this year, beginning on April 27 and running through October 26 (excluding Craft Show weekends).  As many of you are aware, as a result of the disbanding of the OMA there was no longer a sponsor for the market.  Recently, with the help and advice of some prior market managers, I have agreed to assume responsibility for the market through the Occoquan Transportation Co. for the coming year.

Market hours and location will remain the same as in the past -- Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon in the small Mill Street parking lot adjacent to the Route 123 bridge. Starting with the May 11 market, however, I will be implementing a new advance order and delivery service.  Under this service, on the Friday beforemarket days I will email to those who have signed up, notices of produce or other items available at selected quantity and/or pricing.

Participants will have until Friday evening to place orders by email, and the Occoquan Transportation Co. will fill the orders on Saturday morning and deliver them (minimum order and other restrictions do apply) to the participants. To learn more about the service and/or to sign up, please send an email request to market@occoquantransportationco.com.

Whether or not you participate in the order service, please do try to patronize these vendors who have remained loyal participants in our Farmers' Market.
