Occoquan Mayor to Share History of Occoquan

Earnie Porta will present the history of the Town of Occoquan at Westminster at Lake Ridge on May 15.

Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta, author of Images of America: Occoquan, will share a visual history of the charming, riverside Town of Occoquan at , a retirement community located adjacent to the Town of Occoquan, on Tuesday, May 15 at 1 p.m. 

Learn about the role the Town of Occoquan has played in history -- from the days when Native Americans lived along its riverbanks, the arrival of John Smith in 1608, occupation by both Union and Confederate soldiers during the Civil War, as well as the destruction it suffered from Hurricane Agnes, to the charming and vibrant town it is today.
