Lavender Retreat 4319 Ridgewood Center Dr., Lake Ridge

http://lavender-retreat.com/

Lavender Retreat owner, Jaime Bohl, is fond of saying, “It is more than just a massage; it’s a lavender retreat with endless possibilities.”

Endless possibilities do come to mind at Lavender.  There, you leave behind the world of brick and mortar, and are transported to a serene oasis of relaxing greens, soothing lavender aromas, the lull of wind chimes, and the dance of candlelight.

And if the atmosphere means that members don’t want to leave, they’re invited to stay.

“It’s a place to meet with friends.  You don’t always have to meet at a coffee shop,” said Bohl.  “I want to make it the place.”

Lavender is already a the place for a variety of health services, such as massages, diet counseling, skin care, health seminars, and a travel club that plans international excursions.

“Health is not a luxury in the Asian culture,” said Bolt.  “We create a story of relaxation, travel, and nutrition.”

Now, Bohl wants to fill the retreat with her customer’s stories.

Treatments, however, are always growing.

Dansk offers a wide selection of unique treatments, such as permanent makeup; body treatments, including a variety of Swedish massages, body wraps, and reiki; and salon treatments, such as facials, waxing, and pedicures.

Slender Spa 2235 Tackett’s Mill Dr, Lake Ridge

http://www.slender-spa.com/

Slender Spa is a different kind of spa, as the name implies.  While you may feel better after a visit, you will definitely look better.  That is because Slender Spa focuses on body wrap treatments that help customers shed unwanted inches around their midsection and other problem areas.

Loren Grimes, daughter of owner Anita Grimes, said that the body is like a sponge.  Toxins cause it to expand and hold onto unnecessary, unhealthy elements.  Body wraps expel these elements with minerals your body craves.  The result is loss of inches.

Losing inches can help you feel better and look better, and in some cases it can even make a difference in your career.  Military personnel frequently use body wraps to make fitness standards.  Grimes said her mother will repeat treatments if necessary to get service men and women into the shape they need.

On average customers lose an accumulation of 12-20 inches from waist, arms, and legs.  This can translates into fitting into those skinny jeans, looking better in a bathing suit, and feeling better about yourself, so you can go out and live a healthier life-style!

I so appreciate Rich Anderson's presence on this committee. My biggest question is why didn't anyoneRead More have a plan for jobs to take effect if these cuts happened. Did anyone calculate the expense to the economy that would occur from Sequestration or plan to offset that expense?

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and had the turkey-avocado BLT with sweet tea and fries -- delicious.Read More Dave and Eric, the new managers, are good, hardworking guys who I wish all the best in their new venture. As Earnie said, Dave and Sarah have developed a diverse and interesting menu, with some pleasant surprise offerings, the prices are reasonable and they're going to be open seven days a week for breakfast to dinner, something many other Occoquan restaurants don't do. Give them a try, and tell them Chuck the Foodie sent you.
