The Prince William Art Society will be restarting its
monthly meetings on September 19th.  We
meet on the third Wednesday of each month with a summer break during July and
August.  Our meetings take place at 7:30
pm at the Canterbury Woods Community Center;
12184 Chaucer Lane, Lake Ridge Virginia 22192.

PWAS was formed in 1971 with the purpose of promoting the
appreciation of visual arts and fine crafts; gaining recognition and publicity
for the work of local artists; and providing a variety of educational art
programs and fine art exhibits to the Prince William Community. The Prince
William Art Society is funded in part by the Prince William Arts Council

PWAS has its Jewell Pratt Burns scholarship, which we
proudly offer each year to graduating seniors in Prince William schools that
are planning to continue an art education after graduation.

Stop by our meetings, which are open to the public, and join
us.  We are always happy to accept new
members. For more information, check out the art society's web site at www.PrinceWilliamArtSociety.org

I so appreciate Rich Anderson's presence on this committee. My biggest question is why didn't anyoneRead More have a plan for jobs to take effect if these cuts happened. Did anyone calculate the expense to the economy that would occur from Sequestration or plan to offset that expense?

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and had the turkey-avocado BLT with sweet tea and fries -- delicious.Read More Dave and Eric, the new managers, are good, hardworking guys who I wish all the best in their new venture. As Earnie said, Dave and Sarah have developed a diverse and interesting menu, with some pleasant surprise offerings, the prices are reasonable and they're going to be open seven days a week for breakfast to dinner, something many other Occoquan restaurants don't do. Give them a try, and tell them Chuck the Foodie sent you.
