Entrepreneur Stacey Almond Plans Creative Parties For All Occasions

A new business caters to children with special events.

Some entrepreneurs see holidays as a time to relax or to take a vacation, but Stacey Almond sees holidays as an opportunity to express her creativity and create exciting and fun-filled events for children around Lake Ridge and Occoquan.

Her business, Perfectly Pink, started with her daughters and has now grown into a business venture.  What began as a time to throw special events and parties to celebrate milestones in the lives of her daughters has now grown into a recently launched party boutique for children.

Stacey Almond: Perfectly Pink is a unique party boutique mostly for girls ages 3-10, but boys can do dress up things and activities. My inspiration comes from the special events that I throw for my daughters.  As a military wife and a stay-at-home mom, these were events that I used to express my creativity. We did parties for birthdays, Christmas, and even Halloween.

Patch: What was the exciting event you have planned?

Almond: We launched in October, and we had a party for my daughter’s birthday.  Also, we had an event for Valentine’s Day.

Patch: How does Perfectly Pink distinguish itself?

Almond: Some places do spas, but they don’t do the dressing up make-up, crafts and activities.  We do everything.  We have a baker who does cakes and cupcakes.  Parents can just register for the party and we take care of everything else.

Patch: What is the most exciting thing about being an entrepreneur?

Almond: Seeing the faces on the children and having them enjoy their special moment.  You’re only a kid once and everyone deserves to have a special moment.

Patch: What words of wisdom would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?

Almond: People don’t want to embrace their competition or learn from them or their experiences.  They aren’t the enemy.  It is good for people to talk.  Also remember to be creative and be able to take an idea and expand upon it.
