Patch Picks: St. Patty's Day Pubs

Find the St. Pat's bar/restaurant that fits your style.

Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, right?  If there's one lesson to learn from the Irish it's the importance of celebrating good times with friends, often at the local tavern.

If you’re looking for the best place to spend your St. Patty’s Day, look no further.  Patch is all the luck you need, this year to find the best places in your neck of the woods to go green, whether you want to celebrate with music, Irish cuisine, on the water front, or with a frothy glass o' green beer.

Water's Edge Seafood and Steak  13188 Marina Way, Occoquan

This St. Patrick's day, party on the Edge with the Edge.  Classic Rock station 105.9 The Edge is throwing a ShamRock & Roll Party at Water’s Edge, featuring D.J.s Kirk McEwen and Mike O’Meara.  Kirk and Mike will rock from 5-8 p.m., but Sham Rockers are welcome from 9 a.m. until 2 a.m. then next day. But if that’s not enough Erin Go'Bra, there's a bikini contest with a $500 prize.  Water’s Edge is right on the scenic Occoquan River between Prince William and Fairfax County.

Brittany's Restaurant and Sports Bar 12449 Dillingham Square, Lake Ridge

No need to plan a St. Patty’s Day party, because Brittany’s has one planned for you.  It includes the Irish D.J Kevin O’Donohue, along with traditional Irish food and door prizes.  And as always, Brittany has a variety of beers on tap, plus many televisions that allow you to combine your passion for Ireland with your passion for sports.

Madigans on the Waterfront 201 Mill Street, Occoquan

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on the Water this year, at Madigan’s. The Deck is open for as long as the weather cooperates; and the restaurant is going green for St. Patty’s Day, or at least its beer is. Enjoy corn beef and cabbage or Brittany's traditional non-Irish fare.  Then get ready to sing along with Karaoke at the bar.  That might not sound very Irish, but just wait until everyone busts out his favorite Bono ballads.

The Electric Palm 12745 Sea Ray Lane, Occoquan

Why not go-Karaoke-bar-hopping on your St. Patty’s Day?  While you're at it, how about checking out another great place on the water, the Electric Palm? The Palm overlooks the marina and Occoquan River and goes from elegant Eastern Shore dining to lively parties in the evening.  Start dinner with a $10 Prime Rib dinner, available only on Thursdays, and stay for more Bono blaring or suggest another Irish band.

Morgan's Sports Bar and Lounge 3081 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge

Morgan’s is the kind of place made for St. Patty’s Day.  It’s a dark pub, where you can relax, shoot pool with friends, or dance.   They alternate between live music, karaoke, and stereo, and have a delicious casual dining selection.  On St. Patty’s Day they open at 8 a.m., because by then it’s already lunch time in Dublin!
