Santa Stops By Occoquan

Santa arrived by boat at noon and then went to Town Hall, where children got to take pictures with him.

The dock was crowded when Santa stepped off his boat in Occoquan at noon today. Parents and their children had gathered for the annual tradition, in which Santa pays a special visit to Occoquan by boat, instead of in his traditional sleigh.

A police escort led Santa to Town Hall, causing one child to say, "Santa's been arrested!"

Once at Town Hall, Santa took pictures with the children, and listened to their Christmas lists.

Outside Town Hall, the recently christened stood tall. The streets were festive as holiday decorations lined the storefronts. Shoppers crowded the shops for .

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and had the turkey-avocado BLT with sweet tea and fries -- delicious.Read More Dave and Eric, the new managers, are good, hardworking guys who I wish all the best in their new venture. As Earnie said, Dave and Sarah have developed a diverse and interesting menu, with some pleasant surprise offerings, the prices are reasonable and they're going to be open seven days a week for breakfast to dinner, something many other Occoquan restaurants don't do. Give them a try, and tell them Chuck the Foodie sent you.
