Occoquan District Grows
Occoquan District Supervisor Michael May welcomes new residents to his district after the new maps were approved Monday.
The redistricting map that the Board of County Supervisors approved on Monday shows a larger Occoquan District.
Anyone who was in the Occoquan District last election will remains in this district for the upcoming election; no one was moved out of the district. But the size of the district did increase and brought in more voters.
The district extends past the Davis Ford Road corridor. Those who live between Springswoods Drive and Ellis Road on the north side of Old Bridge Road or the Prince William Parkway will be in the Occoquan District.

The changes become effective on Jan. 1, 2012. The county every 10 years has a redistricting to equalize population shifts due to growth and even out representation.
Supervisor Michael May represents the Occoquan District. He sent out a newsletter Friday welcoming his new residents.
