A Dumfries man was arrested Friday after allegedly hitting another man in the face with a glass bottle in a Lake Ridge parking lot, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
Yong Wook Park, 21, is charged with unlawful wounding in the incident near a Merchant Plaza restaurant.
Police initially responded on March 22 at 12:32 a.m. to the 4100 block of Merchant Plaza in Lake Ridge for the report of an assault from a fight.
"The victim, a 26-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and his brother were at a restaurant in the above area when they encountered a few individuals, some of who were known to the victim," Perok said. "The victim and his brother left the establishment and were in the parking lot when the same individuals approached them. A verbal altercation escalated physically and, at one point, one of the men struck the victim to the face with a glass bottle. The fight was eventually broken up prior to police arrival."
Police identified the accused, and determined that the fight was related to a previous encounter. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening. Park was arrested without incident. His court date is unavailable, and he is being held without bond.
