Santa Claus, Town Blessing, and Town Holiday Party

It's the holiday season in Occoquan.

Thanks to the efforts of the Business Guild of Occoquan, tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 1, at noon, Santa Claus will arrive in town by boat. After disembarking at the town pier he will travel to Town Hall (314 Mill Street) where he will meet with children to discuss their Christmas wishes.

The following day, Sunday, December 2, the annual Town Blessing, offered by the congregation of Ebenezer Baptist Church, will take place at 5:30 p.m., at the historic church at the corner of Commerce and Washington Streets.  It will be followed promptly by the free town holiday party on the second floor ofMadigan's Waterfront restaurant.

I so appreciate Rich Anderson's presence on this committee. My biggest question is why didn't anyoneRead More have a plan for jobs to take effect if these cuts happened. Did anyone calculate the expense to the economy that would occur from Sequestration or plan to offset that expense?

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and had the turkey-avocado BLT with sweet tea and fries -- delicious.Read More Dave and Eric, the new managers, are good, hardworking guys who I wish all the best in their new venture. As Earnie said, Dave and Sarah have developed a diverse and interesting menu, with some pleasant surprise offerings, the prices are reasonable and they're going to be open seven days a week for breakfast to dinner, something many other Occoquan restaurants don't do. Give them a try, and tell them Chuck the Foodie sent you.
