Weekend Planner: Craft Show, Pumpkin Patch, Walk for the Homeless

Get out this weekend with our weekend planner.

Where/ When: Historic Occoquan. Sept. 24, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sept. 25, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Why Go: With dozens of artists and crafters from all over the country, this is not an event to miss.

Where/When: Lake Ridge Nursery, 3705 Old Bridge Road, Lake Ridge. Open every day from Sept. 24 until Halloween from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Nothing says fall like a pumpkin patch!

Where/When: Harris Pavillion 9116 Center St, Manassas, Saturday Sept. 24, 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: Take a step to help the homeless. Homelessness in PWC is up 38% this year! Join NVFS and its SERVE campus for a one mile community walk to promote awareness of homelessness in our communities and raise funds for homelessness prevention

Pricing: $20.

Where/When: , Saturday Sept. 24, 10 a.m.

Why Go: Come join Living Historians as they camp out at the preserved site of the Confederate Gun Battery during the Blockade of the Potomac, Freestone Point.  Learn about the story of the Battery, watch an artillery demonstration, check out camp life, and talk to the historians and listen to their discussions about the soldiers and the women and children that were left behind. A bus shuttle will be provided to go between Leesylvania State Park, Weens Botts Museum, and Williams Ordinary.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: 9751 Ox Rd, Lorton, Saturday Sept. 24, 10 a.m.

Why Go: Hundreds of Northern Virginia-area residents are expected to walk in Occoquan Regional Park with their families and friends for a two mile walk to raise money and awareness for food allergies. Also attending will be ABC 7 WJLA Anchor and News Channel 8 Let’s Talk Live Host, Natasha Barrett. Jen Corey, Miss DC 2009, will sing the national anthem. Register at http://www.foodallergywalk.org.

Pricing: Varies based on individual fundraising goals.
