Community Corner

Prince William Art Society Meeting

The

Prince William Art Society will meet on Wednesday  November 20, 2013 at 7:30 pm at the Canterbury

Woods Community Center 12184 Chaucer Lane in Lake Ridge, VA.  The art society welcomes Artist Marni Maree.   Ms. Maree will demonstrate painting on yupo,

a slick plastic surface meant for painting. She will use watercolor and an

assortment of other objects in her yupo "toy box" to create various

textures. She will show how she prefers to begin these paintings very

abstractly by just playing with colors and experimenting with textures - with

nothing in particular in mind! Sometimes her artworks remain as abstracts, but

more often they become more representational in style.  She will also have some sample material for

others to try.  Meetings

are free and the public is encouraged to attend.

For

more information about the art society, call 703-490-5363

non-profit organization dedicated to educating and promoting the Visual Arts in

Prince William County and surrounding areas.  The Prince William Art

Society is supported in part by the Arts Council of Prince William County
