My Top 5 Nutrition Tips

Hi folks, I compiled these tips based on some frequently asked 'clean eating' questions. Remember, it's impossible to out train a poor diet so focus on your nutrition and your workouts simultaneously. Follow these 5 tips for starters!

1 - Eat frequent small meals: Keep your metabolism revved up all day by eating small, balanced meals. Aim to eat every 2.5-3 hours. You can eat small meals or 2 meals and 1 snack.

2 - Always pair your complex carbs with protein: "Just oatmeal" is not a balanced breakfast. Be sure to pair your complex carbs (rice, potato, oatmeal) with a source of lean protein (chicken, eggs, fish). These two foods balance each other and keep your blood sugar regulated.

3 - Drink plenty of water: Flush out those harmful toxins and reduce bloating by drinking at least 3 liters of water daily. Add a squeeze of lemon for a bit of flavor!

4 - Count nutrients, not calories: You can easily eat your daily allotment of calories from burgers, fries, and candy...but there are little to no nutrients in those foods. Focus on getting enough protein, complex carbs, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats from whole food sources instead of just counting calories.

5 - Start the day with a healthy breakfast: Break the fast of your sleep by waking up your body with a healthy breakfast. Eating breakfast prevents you from overeating later in the day, skipping other meals, and sacrificing the lean muscle you need to burn calories all day long.

I hope this helps, stay fit!
