Youngest National Spelling Bee Contestant from Woodbridge

Home-schooled girl headed to Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Local six-year-old Lori Anne Madison is headed to the Scripps National Spelling Bee at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor. 

Lori Anne will compete in the first round of the national competition Tuesday, May 29 on a computer. Lori Anne won the Prince William County spelling bee Friday, March 9.

The Washington Post recently interviewed Lori Anne to profile a typical day in the life of a home-schooled spelling prodigy.

I so appreciate Rich Anderson's presence on this committee. My biggest question is why didn't anyoneRead More have a plan for jobs to take effect if these cuts happened. Did anyone calculate the expense to the economy that would occur from Sequestration or plan to offset that expense?

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and had the turkey-avocado BLT with sweet tea and fries -- delicious.Read More Dave and Eric, the new managers, are good, hardworking guys who I wish all the best in their new venture. As Earnie said, Dave and Sarah have developed a diverse and interesting menu, with some pleasant surprise offerings, the prices are reasonable and they're going to be open seven days a week for breakfast to dinner, something many other Occoquan restaurants don't do. Give them a try, and tell them Chuck the Foodie sent you.
