Beware of Vicious Dog on the Loose

Police officer was bitten in the neck.

Police are warning of a vicious pit-bull mix dog in the River Heritage Blvd area.

The dog, described as a young, female, brindle colored pit-bull mix, appeared to have gotten away from its owner and was still attached to a retractable leash. The dog had a faded red colored collar with a blue tag around its neck.

Police said the leash had gotten lodged in the bushes causing the dog to become tangled. As an officer was attempted to free the dog, it bit the officer in the neck causing minor injures. The dog freed itself and fled the area. The officer was sent to an area hospital.
