Convicted Felon Charged with Shooting a Handgun in His Home

Intoxicated Lake Ridge resident charged with firing several rounds of shots, some of which damaged a neighboring home.

Lake Ridge resident Kimberly Thompson, 53, was arrested early May 8 and charged with firing a handgun in his house in the 12700 block of Bombay Way. A neighbor reported the noise to the police, Officer Jonathan Perok said.

“[Thompson] was intoxicated,” Perok said.

Perok did not know if there was anyone else in the residence at the time the shots were fired, but a recent police report said there were no injuries.

Several hours later, shortly after 9 a.m., a neighbor reported bullet holes in the side of his own house in the 4000 block of Antwerp Court.

“[When] the incident happened, police did check the neighborhood, but because of the time, no one opened their doors or came forward until the next morning,” Perok said.

Since this house was close to Thompson’s house, police believe that the early morning shots caused the damage to the second house. No injuries were reported at the neighboring residence.

Thompson is being held without bond. According to the police report, he is charged with “discharging a firearm inside of a dwelling, reckless handling of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.” The court date information is unavailable.
