Brach Thompson of Dale City was arrested May 6 and charged with burglary after homeowners in the 12400 block of Cavalier Drive reported the loss of about $2,000 worth of jewelry, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
The homeowners told police that the burglary happened between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. that same day. When police responded at 7:41 p.m., they found no signs that anyone had broken into the residence. However, the rear door had been left unlocked.
After canvassing the neighborhood, police got enough information to identify suspects, and arrested Thompson. Benjamin Libby of Woodbridge is also wanted for this burglary, and has not yet been located. He has been described as a white male, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 140 pounds, of a thin build, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Some of the jewelry has been found and restored to the owners.
Thompson has been charged with burglary, possession of a schedule I or II narcotic, and possession of a schedule IV narcotic. His court date is July 6. He is being held on a $25,000 secured bond.
