Firefighter Injured in Lake Ridge Fire

Firefighters were able to get the house fire under control within minutes.

A firefighter sustained minor injuries Tuesday evening while putting out a Lake Ridge townhouse fire.

Firefighters brought the fire on Wagon Wheel Drive under control in less than five minutes, said Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department spokeswoman Rebecca Barnes. Firefighters from that department and Dale City Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at 8:27 p.m. Smoke was showing from the roof of the townhouse.

The Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the incident. The firefighter was treated at Sentara Hospital. No one was home at the time of the fire.
