15-year-old Battlefield Student Dies, Four Seriously Injured in Wreck

Police have identified the 15-year-old girl who died in the crash on Logmill Road shortly after midnight. One teenager has been released from a hospital and three others remain hospitalized with serious injuries.

Update: The driver of the 2005 Dodge Magnum has been identified as an 18-year-old male of Gainesville. He is in stable condition. Kendra Kaeleen Tucker, 15, of Gainesville, was killed at the scene of the crash. A 14-year-old female of Gainesville remains in critical condition; a 15-year-old female of Haymarket is in critical - life-threatening condition; and a 17-year-old male of Gainesville has been treated and released.

A 15-year-old Battlefield High School student died and four more teenagers are critically injured after a wreck in Haymarket just past midnight today.

Police said the wreck happened on Logmill Road, west of James Madison Highway. The 2005 Dodge Magnum was traveling west on Logmill Road when a deer crossed the vehicle's path, sending the vehicle off the road and intro a tree.

None of the five occupants was wearing a seat belt and police said speed was a factor in the crash on the road that has a posted 40 mph speed limit. The four teenagers were flown by helicopters to area hospitals.

An 18-year-old male was driving. The other occupants' were a 14-year-old and 15-year-old females, and a 17-year-old male.
