Homicide Arrest in Death of Lake Ridge Man

Charlie Duncan Adkins, 78, was found dead in his home in November, according to Prince William County Police.

Police have arrested a suspect in the death of a Woodbridge man more than two months ago, according to Prince William County Police.

James Willie Bethea, 47, of the 3400 block of Caledonia Circle, has been charged with murder. Arrested Thursday, Bethea is held without bond and will appear in court March 25.

The body of Charlie Duncan Adkins, 78, was discovered in a home on the 3400 block of Caledonia Circle on Nov. 12.

"Detectives were able to identify the accused after forensic evidence collected at the scene was analyzed," according to police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. "The accused and the victim are known to one another."

A friend of Adkins contacted police on Nov. 12 when she arrived at the home and found the door open, according to police. Officers found Adkins' body with an unspecified injury to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
