Lake Ridge Brush Fire Is Seventh in 12 Hours

A brush fire off Omisol Road in Lake Ridge was brought under control within 15 minutes, adding to a hectic half day for Prince William County fire fighters.

Early Sunday morning, fire and rescue units responded to a seventh brush fire at about 12:14 a.m. off Omisol Road in Lake Ridge.

The fire was in an open field and under nearby power lines. Crews also went to Falmouth Court to ensure homes there would not be damaged.

By 12:26 a.m., the fire was under control. No buildings were damaged.

Earlier, fire and rescue units responded to six different brush fires throughout the county, including one that destroyed an unoccupied house and another that closes stores and a portion of Interstate 95 for safety reasons.

No one was injured in any of the fires. Units have returned to the largest of all seven fires at Occoquan Forest at least once today to put out hot spots.
