Lake Ridge Man Charged With Assault and Brandishing a Firearm

Police charged Antron Kelly, of Lake Ridge, with assault and brandishing a firearm after an incident on March 9 in which a female acquaintance claimed that he threatened her with a handgun and attempted to push her out of a car, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

On March 9, police responded at 2:41 p.m. to the 14500 block of Potomac Mills Road in Woodbridge for a report of an assault. A 19-year-old Fredericksburg woman told police that she and the accused, who were acquaintances, were having an argument while driving in a vehicle. The victim said that the accused stopped driving in a parking lot in the above area, brandished the gun, and tried to push her out of the vehicle.

The victim had minor injuries. Kelly was arrested at the scene without incident. His court date is unavailable. He was released on a $3000 unsecured bond.
