Lake Ridge Man Charged With Assaulting a Police Officer

On Sept. 6, just before 2 p.m., a county police officer was about to enter his police cruiser at the Garfield District Station when Lake Ridge resident Daniel Mehdi Razjooyan-Sosa, 25, reportedly approached the officer and punched him several times in the face.

When the other officers saw the attack from within the station, they ran to the parking lot and arrested Razjooyan-Sosa. The injured officer sustained minor injuries.

Razjooyan-Sosa "was taken for a mental health evaluation," according to the police report. He was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer. He is being held without bond and the court date information is unavailable.
