Lake Ridge Man Charged with Robbing Woodbridge Woman

Jamonte Antonio McKnight was arrested May 27 and charged with strong armed robbery. The following information comes from the Prince William County police department, it does not imply conviction.

On May 27, Jamonte Antonio McKnight, 27, of Lake Ridge, was arrested for and charged with strong armed robbery after a 19-year-old Woodbridge woman reported to police that a man ran by and grabbed money out of her hand as she was out shopping, said police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

Shortly before 3 p.m., the woman and a male acquaintance were about to go into a store in the 12400 block of Dillingham Square in Lake Ridge when they were robbed. After police arrived, witnesses helped to create a description of the man, who had run away from the scene and then driven away in a vehicle. No one was injured.

The accused was found near his house in the 12300 block of Pond Run Drive. His court date is June 20 and he was held without bond.
