OWL VFD Extinguishes Grease Fire in Lake Ridge Kitchen

The fire was under control within a few minutes of the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department's response.

The Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a grease fire in a Lake Ridge kitchen shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, OWL VFD Public Relations Specialist Rebecca Barnes said.

Eight residents were displaced as a result of the fire, which was caused by grease on the stove in a townhouse on Tecumseh Court.

"Initial units arrived on scene within minutes and reported smoke coming from the front kitchen window," Barnes said. "The fire was located in the kitchen and was under control within five minutes."
