Police ID Suspect in Armed Robbery

Prince William County Police say that the suspect stole cell phones and an electronic tablet from a man and a woman in the Woodbridge area.

Prince William County Police have identified a suspect in a robbery on Bay Vista Drive, but he remains at large, said spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok.

Daniel Christopher Shannon, 22, of no fixed address, is wanted for two counts of robbery and two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony. He is described as abut 5'11", black, 250 pounds, with short black hair, a heavy build and brown eyes.

Detectives from the Robbery Unit on Tuesday identified Shannon as a suspect in a robbery that took place three days earlier, on the 14100 block of Bay Vista Drive. A 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man told police that two men had approached them and stole their cell phones and electronic tablet. One of the men, who police have identified as Shannon, was armed.

As police searched for a suspect, they executed a search warrant at a home on Jennings Street, but did not find Shannon there. Detectives believe that Shannon resides at an unknown address in Washington D.C. and are continuing the search for him.

Police continue to investigate the identity of the second man.
