Police: Young Boy Forcibly Robbed in Woodbridge

The boy reported being knocked to the ground and robbed of cash, according to Prince William County Police.

Police charged Woodbridge resident Elijah Rashawn Snyder, 19, with robbery after a Woodbridge boy reported being forcibly robbed along Wyndale Court on Dec. 1.

Police responded to the area that day at 5:50 p.m. for the report of a robbery.

"The victim, an 11 year old boy of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and two other acquaintances were in the area above when they were approached by another known acquaintance and an unknown male," Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said in a release. "During the encounter, the unknown male pushed the victim to the ground and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from his pockets before both males fled on foot. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to locate and arrest the known acquaintance who accompanied the unknown suspect."

Snyder was arrested Dec. 1. His court date is unavailable.

"The investigation continues into the identity and arrest of the remaining suspect," Perok said.
