Seven Displaced in Townhouse Fire

Preliminary damages are estimated at $3,000

Fire and rescue units were dispatched to a townhouse fire in the 12400 block of Skipper Circle in Lake Ridge Tuesday morning.

Residents told fire and rescue units upon arrival that the fire was in the kitchen but was extinguished. Everyone was safely evacuated and no injuries were reported, according to Prince William County Fire Department officials. 

Fire officials said three adults and four children were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross was called to the residence to assist the affected families.

The Fire Marshal's investigation yielded that preliminary damages are estimated at $3,000 and the fire started on the stovetop. The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental.
